BOMBAY OF THE DAY: DIOR SHOW WATERPROOF MASCARA

You'd think I'd get a lot of emails about exercise and weight loss and I do, but it cracks me up on how many emails and letters I get asking about my make-up or where I find the clothes I wear in my videos. (First...the clothes... shameless plug... I find those at my very own fitness boutique which you're welcome to visit the next time you're in Irvine, California. Powder Blue Productions 460 Goddard, Irvine, CA. That's where these photos were taken)  However, it's just a click away at http://www.turbokick.com if your in the mood for some new gear!

As for the make-up...YES...shocking... I wear make-up when I work out! Hello! Trust me.. it's in the best interest of all involved.  It's my job to workout! Don't you wear make-up to your job? Ladies, I hope so. And God bless you if you were born with flawless skin, long dark lashes and pink lips. Grrr! Some women are BEAUTIFUL without make up! We ain't mad atcha!

Funny... my darling Dad has always said, "Why do you wear all that junk on your face. You don't need make-up! You're a natural beauty." Ha! Very funny Dad! Ironically, when I've met him at the door without any make-up on, he always gets a very concerned look on his face. His eyebrows lower, he places a hand on my shoulder and lowers his voice, "Honey... you need rest. You're doing too much. You look very tired. Are you okay?" To which I explain... "I'M FINE! I JUST NEED MASCARA!"

When you spend some time trying to look your best people notice. You feel better about yourself. You send the message that you care enough to present yourself in the most polished and professional manner! The honest truth is that if the fire alarm were to go off in the middle of the night, I would make sure my children and pets were safe, then I would probably talk my husband into running back in to save my make-up bag. That way I could quickly apply a little lipstick and a few strokes of mascara before the firemen pulled down the street or the neighbors came outside to see what was all the fuss. Seriously... I don't go to the mailbox without lashes and lips! As Dolly Parton once said, "It costs a lot of money to look this cheap!"

I met a wonderful make-up artists, Tiffany Lee Bymaster several years ago (in the pics above). And NO... she doesn't do my make-up everyday! I wish! Just special ocassions, photos shoots, tv appearance, videos, that kinda thing. She has taught me every little trick in the book when it comes to work-out proof make-up! Most make-up she recommends is very affordable. There is only one exception... the mascra.  She has taught me to never skimp on mascara! It will save you time in application and the dreaded post workout raccoon eye syndrome!

So..today's Bombay of the Day is Dior Show Waterproof Mascara

Haha, now you're going to have to give us a tip about how you don't break out after working out in makeup. :-D I need a new mascara, maybe I'll upgrade from my cheapie Loreal and try this one.

Thanks for the make up tip, maybe you can share a part 2 of some other things you reccommend?

Im sure I am not your only fan that would like to know more in this area, since we all workout everyday, or 2-3 times a day like me.

Please bring it!

I'd like to try this, but also, I thought you mentioned on facebook a mascara that you found at drugstore.com that you really liked too, that didn't cost as much. As the mom of six, I'm looking for a good bargain - but I still want to look good!! My hubby and I did Turbo Jam together tonight - it was a new one that I haven't done before and it was intense!! Thanks for all you do!! We LOVE you!!

Yeah, if I wear makeup when I workout I tend to breakout, too. Or even if I don't, it just looks like crap by the time I'm done and I think I look worse than if I wouldn't have worn anything. So how do you workout-proof it?

Thanks :D....although, you must tell us if you use foundation while you workout, and if you do...how does it not melt off your face during a workout?!

Dear Chalene,

I'm starting to read this blog from the beginning and I'm learning SO MUCH. Thank you for your spirit of generosity. I hope to one day find something that sparks my passion and allows me to help others. I feel like this blog is a goldmine and I am slowly digging thru it and finding treasure that will add value to my life! As your business continues to grow and your time becomes even more limited, please continue to find a slice of time to share everything from makeup tips to words of wisdom:) I hope you appreciate that God has given you a really special gift (the ability to connect with people), keep using it!

I wish you health, happiness, love and continued prosperity.

Yeah I totally wear make-up to work out. And I work out at home! Chalene, do you know anything about Adrenal Fatigue and what exercise is best to do when you have it? I do a video and I'm exhausted for three to four days after. Thought you may know :)

Nothing about the mascara, but wanted to let you know that the Loreal Sublime Gel Bronzer/tanner; you can get it at WalMart. I was there yesterday & they had tons of it on the shelf. Per your recommendation, I grabbed two. I hope it works as great for me. You requested that we let you know if we found a place that carried it, so I wanted to let you know. If you don't have a WalMart in your area, you might check on WalMart online...& if it comes down to it, I could buy ours out for you & ship it to you. (I am in Illinois, near Chicago.) Thanks for the tips!

I'm a indoor cycling instructor and cannot wear makeup because after I am done my workout, it's like I swam in a lake. You are lucky you don't sweat as much during your workouts in order to wear makeup!

Actually...when I'm done you can't find a dry spot on my whole body. I look like someone threw me in the shower. That's why I had to find waterproof goodies!
