YUMMY MONDAYS : SUPER SNACK

Typical trail mix isn't slimming, but these homemade medleys are. A 1/4 cup serving has fewer calories and is a tastey portable snack.

ALMONDY APPLES

1 tsp vegetable oil

1/2 tsp cumin seeds

1/2 cup sliced almonds (unsalted)

1/2 cup cornflakes

1/4 cup walnut pieces

1 cup dried apples slices cut into bits

Heat oil in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds. When they sizzle (about 3 seconds), remove from heat. Mix in remaining ingredients.

108 calories per serving, 4.4 g fat (0.4 g saturated fat), 16.1 g carbs, 2.2 g fiber, 1.5 g protein

SPICE, CRACKLE, POP

1 tsp vegetable oil

1/4 tsp ground turmeric

1 cup Rice Krispies

1/4 cup roasted cashews (unsalted)

1/4 cup roasted peanuts (unsalted)

1/2 cup golden raisins

2 tbsp dried blueberries

1/2 tsp ground cumin

Wow! I'm so excited that I found your blog!

I'm about to graduate from medical school (aka: no time) and I was a former BigTen athlete (aka: weight gain when I stopped)...your TurboJam infomercials were stalking me for several days and I finally broke down and bought them--and haven't stopped since! I have gotten tons of comments on how much weight I have lost (21 lbs so far), and I feel so much better about myself.

My only desire is more 20 minute workouts! I love the 20 minute workout you have now, because it still makes me sweat but doesn't take up too much time when I've been on call all night and just want to sleep. Love it! :)

Ok, longest post ever. Going to stop typing now. Hugs!

I, too, LOVE the 20 minute workout & love the lively workout music. That's what caught my attention.

I was recently introduced to an ALL NATURAL AWESOME Energy, Weight loss, muscle maintaining capsule with many health benefits. It suppresses appetite, & is manufactured to pharmaceutical standards, and I need help spreading the word about it.

A number of nurses are using it, and doctors using it with their patients. But very few even know about it. Found out about it from eWomenNetwork.com friend.
I have a profile on that website. I was hoping you'd take a look at the Zylene. Complements other products & helps everyone with their success as that's what it's all about!

CHALENE!!

So happy to see you back and soooo excited to learn what`s coming. Cannot WAIT to get my paws on that!

I`m also happy to have the opportunity to let you know what an influence you have had in my life.

I have been doing Turbo Jam for almost a year now and beyond the amazing - BEST - time I`ve had in working out "with you" and the jammers, the most positive & sruprising influence has been in giving me confidence, strenght and courage when I feel overwhelmed.

Everytime I hear myself think draining thoughts I think about you, about how you say that energy comes from your mind & that you have plenty of it.

It reminds me that even when I feel spent I can always find the oomph to put in a video & revitalize myself. And I see that if I have the energy to get my Turbo party on then I have that energy in reserve somewhere, always.

It`s helped me MANY times. You have made me a stronger woman and for that I can`t even begin to thank you.

Wishing you the absolute best,

Josée

Chalene,
These recipes looks delicious and I know my daughter and hubby would love them but I wonder what, if anything, can be substituted for the nuts. I have so many allergies and healthy snacks always seem to contain some form of nut or berry that I'm allergic to. Any suggestions? I want to loose 10 pounds, so snacking without guilt - or hives - is vital to me right now. :-)

Chalene,
This is blog-a-rific!! I just finished your turbo party. Thanks for your blog, and being you. I'm trying to lose the 47 pounds that I've gained since I've had 3 kids(and a lover of anything that has sugar) so I have started my own weight loss blog, I hope you don't mind if I add this as one of my links. Stay strong sista'- keep bringing the party because I'm on the Chalene express.......

I'm so excited I found your blog!
I've been looking for a way for about an hour to contact you. I just wanted to say that for a little over a month I've done Turbo Jam.
Yesterday as I ran for a bus to catch home my jeans were FALLING. I went home and was literally brought to tears. Nothing has ever worked for me. I just wanted you to know that you've been a gigantic inspiration to me and I thank you so much with what you've only begun to do for me.
Just really want to say thank-you, and I hope you feel wonderful because you've given a lot of people this same wonderful feeling I've got. <3
